Directions to the Dance Palace: FROM THE EAST BAY.
Take Highway 580 across the Richmond San Rafael bridge to Highway 101 North. Take the Central San Rafael exit, going west. This will put you Third Street which then becomes Sir Francis Drake Boulevard. Stay on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard, through San Anselmo, Fairfax, Woodacre, San Geronimo, Lagunitas, and Samuel Taylor State Park, until Sir Francis Drake Boulevard dead ends at Highway One in Olema. Turn right, going north, on Highway One. Go approximately four miles into the town of Point Reyes Station. As you come into town, you will cross a small green bridge. The first left after the bridge is “B” Street. Turn left. Go four blocks, to the corner of 5th & B Streets, where you will see the Dance Palace on your left.

We will gather in the parking lot behind the dance palace between 12-1 for an informal-bring-your-lunch picnic and to set up our instruments and equipment in the rear alcove of the building. We plan to have a soundcheck at around 1:35 pm. Please bring your instruments, a music stand, a music stand light if you want one. It should be plenty bright but just in case. They will have chairs, the piano, and a sound system there. Bring floor rags for discharge. Admission is free so invite everybody. Please bring covid masks. Masks will be required for the audience and us while we are not playing. Please dress up to a standard of comfortable jazz chic--colorful, attractive, but not formal tuxedo or tie and coat. Hawaiian shirts or other colorful tops and slacks or dresses. No jeans or tennis shoes.
Gas money: Because of our good playing and reputation in past and present gigs, I was able to negotiate $400 total in fees for our performance at ACC and now at the Dance Palace. This will mark the first time either venue has agreed to pay for our performance. We usually save these funds to pay for future music or rental requirements. This time, because of the increase in gas prices, we have decided to offer to band members the option of receiving $20 to cover travel expenses. I will not be distributing this money at the concert so please do not expect to receive it on Sunday. Please ask me for the travel fee if you want it. If you do not ask for it, I will not send it. I will send it to you via Paypal or Venmo or by mail after the gig. It helps if you have a Paypal or Venmo account, or just give me your best most accurate email if that is your choice. You will have it in about 3 days with Paypal or Venmo. If you want to receive it by mail, I will need your full home address. It will come in about a week by mail.
